Pakistan Mission’s First Secretary Sarfaraz Ahmed Gohar gave a strong reply to India at the United Nations session, as reported by national media on Saturday.

In his address to the UN General Assembly session, Pakistan Mission’s First Secretary Sarfaraz Ahmed Gohar stated that Kashmir was not, is not, and will never be a part of India.

Sarfaraz Ahmed Gohar stated that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory, and the decision will be made through a plebiscite. The UN Security Council resolutions guarantee the right to self-determination, and India is bound under Article 25 of the UN Charter to implement those resolutions.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, stated in his address to the General Assembly session that the Human Rights Council should play an active role for oppressed nations.

He said that the Council should, without discrimination, protect the rights of people living in occupied territories, adding that peace is not possible without ending foreign occupation and ensuring the right to self-determination.
