Nobody Wants This Season 2 is a 10-episode extension of the romantic comedy that explores the realities of the relationship between an agnostic podcaster and a rabbi, moving beyond the “honeymoon phase” and into the everyday challenges of merging their wildly different lives and families.
The season picks up shortly after the end of Season 1, where Noah chose Joanne over the prospect of becoming the head rabbi at his temple.
The central tension remains the question of whether Joanne will convert to Judaism. While Noah initially seemed ready to drop the requirement, it becomes clear in Season 2 that he still expects her to convert eventually, while Joanne is unsure if she can or wants to change who she is for a man.
Noah faces a professional crisis and takes a job at a more progressive temple, where he works alongside a new, more casual rabbi (played by Seth Rogen).
