The government has announced action against violent elements of the religious and political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). Police stated that the organizers of the violent protests have been identified.
According to details, action will be taken against the violent TLP elements. Police stated that a list of the violent individuals has been prepared, and data has been provided to law enforcement agencies.
Police further stated that the identification of the network of violent elements has also been completed.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, TLP’s violent elements confronted the police and held violent protests in various cities, which led to rising tensions.
Police used baton charge due to fears of public disorder; however, several police personnel were injured as a result of violent actions by the protesters.
Earlier, the local media reports claimed that authorities have traced both Saad Rizvi and Anas Rizvi, and their arrest is expected soon. There is no confirmed information yet regarding whether the two are injured.
Police sources reported earlier that the violent protest in Muridke — where TLP supporters clashed with law enforcement — was dispersed, though the confrontation resulted in the death of one police officer and injuries to dozens of others.
