ISLAMABAD: Last year, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority excluded China Mobile Pakistan (Zong) from running any advertising that included mobile services of the 5th generation (5G). The commercial might mislead consumers by confusing test service for commercial launch.
The Chinese telecommunications giant’s Pakistani arm compelled the regulator, but it might not have thought that the same notification would become the basis of what appeared to take over the game three months later in a propaganda campaign.

The hashtag # ZongExposed trend went on Twitter in Pakistan on January 9, following hundreds of accounts that attacked the company on the basis of the same notification.
What is interesting, though, is that the notification was released on September 17, 2019, reported by famous news websites and blogs.
Here the question comes that why did it resurface to become the source of a Twitter phenomenon three months later, A fast dig into the history of the hashtag reveals that an excessive proportion of these tweets supported another brand, Jazz, as opposed to just targeting Zong company.
