Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has called for convening a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), urging all Muslim countries to sever ties with Israel after it launched attacks on Iran.
Speaking in the National Assembly on Saturday, Khawaja Asif said “We stand with Iran as Israel has been targeting Yemen, Iran, Palestine. If the Muslim world does not unite today, everyone’s turn will come.”
The defence minister said “The conscience of non-Muslims is waking up but the conscience of Muslims is not.”
He demanded that an OIC meeting should be called on Israeli aggression. “Muslim countries are urged to sever ties with Israel,” he added.
“We stand with our Iranian brothers in every difficult moment,” Asif maintained.
Khawaja Asif called on the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold an emergency meeting to develop a joint strategy in response to Israel’s ongoing aggression.
The minister condemned Israel’s brutal actions, especially its military aggression against Iran.
He called it a serious threat to regional and global peace. “Palestinian children are being killed, yet there are more protests in non-Muslim countries than in Muslim nations,” he remarked with regret.
He said Iran is not just a neighbour but a brotherly country having deep-rooted ties with Pakistan. He warned that if the Muslim world doesn’t act together, every country will eventually become a target.
“The way Israel has targeted Yemen, Iran, and Palestine shows a larger plan. Most Muslim nations are already facing security risks. Strong leadership is needed now,” he said.
