Eidul Fitr, a major Islamic celebration, marks the first day of Shawwal following the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims observe fasting from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs.
The festival begins with the traditional sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon, a practice deeply rooted in Islamic customs.
Recently, a notification claiming that the federal government had announced 5-day Eid holidays from March 31 to April 4 for those observing a 5-day workweek, and 7-day holidays from March 29 to April 5 for those with a 6-day workweek, began circulating on social media.

However, this press release is false, as the government has yet to issue an official notification regarding Eid holidays.
According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Eidul Fitr in 2025 is predicted to occur on March 31. The crescent moon is expected to be visible across most parts of the country on the evening of March 30. Experts from the Ruet committee have indicated that by then, the Shawwal moon will be over 26 hours old, satisfying the age criteria for visibility.
