Punjab Bike Scheme 2024

Punjab Bike Scheme 2024

The Sindh Government has announced an initiative to provide free electric motorcycles to women, aiming to improve their transportation for professional duties.

The Department of Transport, Sindh, plans to distribute 1,200 electric motorcycles each year, with 100 women receiving these bikes every month.

To bolster women’s mobility and support their participation in the workforce, the department has requested a budget of Rs300 million for the Electric Vehicle (EV) motorcycle scheme.

The motorcycles will be allocated to women through a lottery system, according to the Transport Department.

The approval of this EV motorcycle scheme is set to be included in the agenda of the upcoming Sindh Cabinet meeting on February 27, which will also consider the allocation of Rs30 million required for the scheme.

Earlier in December of last year, the Punjab Government began distributing 100,000 electric bikes (e-bikes) to students across the province.
