The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) be included as a respondent in the case related to the disappearance of Faizan Usman.
According to Express Tribune, Justice Babar Sattar instructed the authorities to locate the missing citizen by Thursday. The court emphasized the urgency of the matter, ordering the Inspector General to track the missing person’s phone and vehicle.
Who is Faizan Usman?
According to his family, Pakistani intelligence agencies allegedly kidnapped 17-year-old Baloch student Faizan Usman on July 5 near Islamabad’s Green Avenue.
His family claims that military intelligence agencies initially raided their home while Faizan was not there. Under significant pressure and threats, the family was forced to hand him over to the authorities. Despite assurances from the agencies involved that Faizan would be released, it has now been over two months, and he remains missing, as per newsintervention.com.
They have since filed a First Information Report (FIR) accusing the Pakistani agencies of abducting Faizan.
The family recounted a distressing ordeal in the court petition, describing how unknown individuals entered their home, searched the premises, and took Faizan away, allegedly due to suspected ties with a banned organization. The petitioner also provided evidence, including video footage of a vehicle with a Quetta number plate near their residence.
Faizan’s cousin, Gul Hassan Khan, took to social media platform X on Tuesday, pleading for Faizan’s release. He wrote, “My cousin, Faizan Usman, a recent matric graduate, was abducted by security agencies from Islamabad two months ago. Despite our relentless efforts, his whereabouts remain unknown, leaving our family devastated. We urgently demand his immediate and safe release. Faizan’s disappearance has caused immense emotional distress, and we fear for his well-being and safety. We appeal to the authorities to provide information about his location and ensure his swift and safe return home.”
