Zainab Jamil, a former model and actress best known for her part in the hit drama “Khuda Aur Muhabbat,” has made alarming allegations, claiming her husband was behind a recent attempt on her life.
The “Aap ki Kaneez” actress was severely injured on Wednesday while heading to her salon in Lahore’s DHA Phase IV after two masked attackers opened fire on her car.
“The attack was carried out by my husband, who has been threatening me for the past two months,” she said in a recorded video from a Lahore hospital, which she posted on Instagram.
She also shared a video on her social media account of a past conversation with her husband.

“I was taking these threats lightly, thinking that the father of my children would not harm the mother of his children.”
“Even though I have all the evidence with me, I’m not happy with the police investigation […] and I continue to receive threats against my life.” I am a mother of two small children. I require assistance. I’m not doing well; [from this attack], I took six gunshots.
“They are attempting to silence my voice, so media representatives are not permitted to contact me here at the hospital.
The former actor appealed to the IG Punjab to take up her case and ensure a transparent investigation.
Earlier, after regaining consciousness at the hospital, she revealed that she had been receiving murder threats, and a threatening letter was also sent to her beauty salon.
Zainab further stated that she did not know the attackers, but it was evident that the attack was premeditated, as the armed men appeared fully prepared to target her vehicle on the way to her salon.
Police have registered a case against two unidentified men following a complaint from Zainab’s uncle. Officers reported that they recovered a pistol and a motorcycle from the crime scene and that the suspects were being tracked via Safe City cameras and would be arrested soon.
