A letter, purportedly authored by Mike Baird, Chairman of the Australian Cricket Board, “Cricket Australia,” and CEO Nick Haley, addressed to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, started circulating on the social media platform “X” from November 21. In the letter, Imran Khan is praised for his talent, and it states, “We have learned a lot from your talent, and it is a matter of honor for us.”
Furthermore, the letter claims that the trophy would be named after Imran Khan, inviting him to Australia as the chief guest to receive the Medal of the Order of Australia, the country’s highest civilian honor.
However, a closer examination reveals that this letter is a fabrication. Checking Cricket Australia’s official social media pages and website failed to yield any evidence of such a letter. Additionally, there was no corresponding statement from the Australian High Commission. It is crucial to note that no official confirmation or acknowledgment of this letter has been made by any cricket or government official in Australia.

Despite the attempt to propagate this false narrative, diligent research confirms that the letter is unequivocally fake, and efforts to attribute it to Cricket Australia lack any basis in reality.
