Imran Khan has been secluded in jail for quite some time, while the Pakistani media, instead of calling him by name, refers to him as “Chairman PTI,” as if, in the olden days, a wife would refer to her husband as “Munnay ke Abba” rather than taking his name.
Recently, I, too, accomplished a feat and on the social media website X (Twitter) by tagging a message to “Munnay ki Ami” Jemima Goldsmith to express happiness over Qasim’s new starup.
Former member of the PTI, Sindh Assembly Adil Ahmed, and many social media users extended congratulations to Qasim Khan and his mother, while on this occasion, some “Patwaris” were also heard, who, knowing the occasion, were making noise against Imran Khan and his alleged mismanagement.
According to the latest political situation (which would be better described as “establishment” in clearer terms), the demand for an adjustment seat by the PML-N and the PTI is evident. Perhaps this is why Asad Qaiser took a jab at Nawaz Sharif.
Yesterday, former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that instead of elections, like the caretaker government, a notification should also be issued to make Nawaz Sharif the Prime Minister. The environment created for the elections is not fair and free in any way.
I would ask the PTI people who have created an “environment” on Twitter, is it fair and free? Can a PML-N supporter criticize Imran Khan on Qasim Khan’s tweet? Because, according to the opinion of the letter-writer, Imran Khan has also been the Prime Minister, did he control inflation and the economy?
Asad Qaiser commanded, “The opposition has become ‘selected plus,’ if elections are held in this environment, no one will accept the results.” If we analyze this statement, it reveals the same statement that the PTI cannot be placed on the wall, just like any black thief can be made the Prime Minister, make him, not Imran Khan.
The Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is in jail, and Nawaz Sharif is free. Should we rely on this entire “charade” by the judiciary? A judge who made a decision in such haste as if he had to catch a train, while other judges are showing such laziness in releasing Imran Khan from jail as if they don’t want to go home.
If we want to rely on this “charade” with the establishment, politicians, or the current caretaker government, there will be differences because the establishment has already said that they have no connection with our politics, and politicians say that we have no connection with our government.
The caretaker government says that everything is happening according to the law, and some things are not happening according to the law, everyone can see this. How much is happening according to the law, everyone knows. In this regard, the poetry of Qamar Jalalvi comes to mind, perhaps he wrote it about Imran Khan, although during his time, Imran Khan was not only the Prime Minister but also not the captain of the national team.
The complete poet of Urdu, Qamar Jalalvi, passed away in the late 60s when Imran Khan started his first-class cricket, yet Mirza Ghalib understood science, and perhaps Qamar Jalalvi understood what was going to happen in the future. Some verses of one of his ghazals particularly seem to be about Imran Khan:
دبا کے چل دئیے سب قبر میں، دعا نہ سلام
ذرا سی دیر میں کیا ہوگیا زمانے کو؟
Because some politicians of the PTI have made this jail like a tight prison where Imran Khan is kept nowadays. Other verses of the same ghazal reflect the current political situation of the country, how? To tell that, another column needs to be written. In the end a ghazal for the establishment.
اب آگے اس میں تمہارا بھی نام آئے گا
جو حکم ہو تو یہیں چھوڑ دوں فسانے کو؟
