Crude oil extraction increases from Kohat’s Sayab Well

The crude oil and gas extraction from Kohat’s Sayab well have increased.

OGDC (Oil & Gas Development Company Limited) has achieved another success in oil and gas production. There has been a record increase in oil and gas production from Sayab Well number one in Kohat.

According to the spokesperson of OGDC, the discovery of Sayab Well number one was made operational in 2022, and it was producing 125 barrels of crude oil and 6.2 MMSCFD of gas at a pressure of 1700 psi (pounds per square inch).

The spokesperson revealed that from the well with now 4300 psi pressure, a daily additional production of 265 barrels of crude oil and 14.3 MMSCFD of gas is being achieved. Following this, from well number 1, a daily production of 390 barrels of crude oil and 20.5 MMSCFD of gas is being obtained.

The spokesperson further mentioned that OGDCL has initiated formal additional production, which will lead to an increase in the company’s revenue and a reduction in the national import bill.
