ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has stated that cement sales decreased by 16 percent in April.
APCMA said that the total consumption of cement in April was Rs 29,51,000 metric tons while last April’s cement consumption was 35,36,000 metric tons.
According to the association, local consumption of cement in April decreased by 25 percent to 25,31,000 tonnes, while exports of cement increased by 168 percent to 4,20,000 tonnes in April.
According to the announcement, the total consumption of cement in the 10 months of the current financial year was 36,50,000 tonnes.

APCMA said that cement consumption has decreased by 17 percent in the 10 months of the current financial year, and domestic consumption of cement has decreased by 16 percent to 3.30 crore tonnes in the current financial year.
Cement exports fell by 28 percent to 34.5 lakh tonnes in the first 10 months of the current financial year. The statement said that the consumption of cement is being adversely affected due to the economic crisis.
