ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has questioned the ‘neutrality of Establishment’ after reports that the paramilitary is now leading from the front to confront workers who have been battling throughout the night to resist his arrest.

A heavy contingent of police fought pitched battles with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers near Imran Khan’s house throughout the night, firing barrages of teargas and dodging stones thrown by angry crowds as the battle entered second day on Wednesday.
According to IGP Punjab Dr Anwar Usman, as many as 30 police officers including DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari and DPO Sheikhupura Zahid Nawaz were injured in clashes with the PTI activists.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, Imran Khan said “after our workers and leadership faced police onslaught since yesterday morning of tear gas, cannons with chemical water, rubber bullets & live bullets this morning; we now have Rangers taking over & are now in direct confrontation with the people. My question to the Establishment,to those who claim they are “neutral”: Is this your idea of neutrality, Rangers directly confronting unarmed protestors & ldrship of largest pol party when their ldr is facing an illegal warrant & case already in court & when govt of crooks trying to abduct & possibly murder him?”
