Real Madrid secured its first La Liga win in three matches as Los Blancos came from behind to beat Espanyol 3-1 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon.
Vinicius Junior and Eder Militao were both on target for the Spanish champions.
Espanyol started positively as Joselu put the Catalan strugglers ahead after eight minutes. Eduardo Camavinga had a tough start at the Bernabeu, and his second mistake of the day let the visitors get in down Real Madrid’s left. From there, a ball was centered for Joselu who emphatically finished into Thibaut Courtois’ top corner, giving him no chance of stopping it.
But goals from Vinicius Jr and Eder Militao turned Real’s fortunes around, and they saw out victory with a late Marco Asensio strike.
Real, who are is points off the top with an extra game played, face leaders Barcelona in El Clasico next weekend.
The result means Espanyol will begin to look over their shoulders once again, sitting two points above the drop zone with a game more played than the bottom three.
