Pakistan can’t be run through decisions taken behind closed doors: PTI

LAHORE: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry has made it clear that the country cannot be run through decisions taken behind closed doors.

His statement came in response to a statement by Federal Minister Saad Rafique in which he termed current form of democracy in Pakistan as the one badly infected by smallpox. Saad Rafique in his statement blamed establishment and judges, who gave verdicts based on doctrine of necessity, as responsible for current ailing democracy in Pakistan.

Taking to Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said Saad Rafique’s statement needed attention, adding that a country having population around 220 million couldn’t be run through the decisions made behind the closed doors.

The PTI leader said in order to run the country according to the wishes of the public, democracy must be practiced among the political parties and on the other hand the role of establishment in the country must be limited.
