BJP accused of being financed by gangster Dawood Ibrahim

NEW DELHI: India’s incumbent government has been accused of being financed by underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

The recent reports from Indian news have revealed that the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)  took a large donation from a company that is now being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for facilitating terror funding, financial declarations by the BJP.

A company named RKW Developers gave money to BJP, filings reveal. RKW is at the heart of a probe in India for carrying out transactions with and buying properties from the late Iqbal Memon alias Iqbal Mirchi, an accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts and a close aide of mafia boss Dawood Ibrahim.

It is worth bearing in mind that had the Modi government introduced this anonymous form of political lobbying in 2014-2015 where RKW’s donated Rs 10 crore to the BJP party.

The ruling BJP has been under huge pressure over election funding. Earlier this month, it was revealed that nearly 75 percent of BJP funds came from the Tata group in India.

The report that the party of Indian premier Narendra Modi has been taking funds from Dawood Ibrahim.
