The story of the continued Avatar franchise will focus on Jake and Neytiri and their family a decade after the first film. It will explore new parts of Pandora, particularly the planet’s oceans while facing off with the return of the humans and new threats. Both Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver are returning for Avatar: The Way of Water but as new characters.

When will it release?
It is currently planned for a release on December 16, 2022, with the following three sequels to be released, respectively, in 2024, 2026, and 2028.
Estimated earning
The first sequel was slated to be released in December 2020, the third in December 2021. The production has run very behind. In September, Variety reported that Avatar: The Way of Water was estimated to make $649 million in the US.
