ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday called for adopting modern approach regarding PTI’s sit-in planned for November 26 between the twin cities.

The remarks were passed by Chief Justice of IHC Aamer Farooq while hearing the petition filed by businessmen against the expected sit-in of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

PTI Chief Imran Khan had given call to the general public as well as supporters and voters to reach Rawalpindi on November 26 as part of final phase of his Long March. He has been pressing for demands of early elections since his ouster from power in April this year.
During the course of proceedings today, CJ IHC said that Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court had given verdict regarding the PTI sit-in, adding that placing containers was no solution to the problem and the administration should adopt an innovative approach.

He further remarked that even if something happens in Rawalpindi, those coming to Islamabad may face problems.
Later, IHC disposed off the plea of the businessmen after the petition seeking NOC for the public gathering was withdrawn by the PTI.

IHC on Tuesday also heard PTI’s plea seeking permission to hold a sit-in and rally, in which the lawyer requested to withdraw the petition, which was accepted by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq.
