PTI appoints Abrar-ul-Haq as PRCS chairman

Abrar-ul-Haq comes under fire at London concert

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government has appointed its party member Abrar-ul-Haq as the chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
President Dr. Arif Alvi as head of the PRCS replaced Dr. Saeed Elahi, who was chairman of the Society for three years, with Abrar-ul-Haq.
A notification has been issued in this regard by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination.

The singer turned politician has been given the seat for three years.
Singer Abrar-ul-Haq had contested the 2013 general election on the ticket of PTI for the seat of the National Assembly from constituency NA-78 (Narowal-II).
Abrar is also a social worker and runs a non-profit charitable organization aimed at promoting health and education in remote areas.

Abrar-ul-Haq also has extensive experience dealing with natural disasters, while also being the first human rights ambassador to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
