RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill’s health has been worsening in the Adiala Jail, according to reports in local media.
A medical team from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital reached Adiala Jail for a medical examination of Shahbaz Gill who is said to be suffering from chest pain and shortness of breath.
ARY News reported that Gill is being transferred to the Adiala Jail’s hospital for his complete medical examination.
It is pertinent to mention here that an Islamabad court last Tuesday rejected the bail plea filed by Shahbaz Gill in a sedition case.
After the judge announced the verdict, Islamabad Police resumed custody of Gill and took him back to a holding cell. Gill remains in physical custody of the Islamabad Police in the case.
Gill was arrested on August 9 after he made controversial remarks allegedly about the army during an ARY News bulletin and has been detained since, amid claims of him being subjected to torture and sexual abuse during custody. On August 25, he applied for post-arrest bail.
