Actress Mumtaz to join cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Heeramandi'

Bollywood legendary actress Mumtaz has finally said yes to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s offer to do the Netflix web series Heeramandi.

It is to be noted that Bhansali had first offered Mumtaz a role last year but she had declined the offer saying there was very little for her to do. However, now Bhansali has tweaked the role, giving the legendary actress a meatier role than was offered before.

According to the source, Mumtaz now likes her role in Heeramandi a lot better than she did earlier and has verbally agreed to be in the series, and the paperwork will now be completed. There was almost Rekha is in talks with Bhansali for Heeramandi. According to reports, Rekha is in ‘advanced talks’ with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a pivotal role in Heeramandi. Sources claimed that it was a role especially written for Rekha.

Moreover, there are reports that Bhansali will be pocketing around Rs. 60-65 crore rupees as a directorial fee, the rest of the 200-crore budget for Heeramandi goes into production costs and in paying the actors.

Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Huma Qureshi, and Richa Chadha have agreed to work at reduced rates. The male cast of Heeramandi is now being finalized.
