LAHORE: Lahore police have arrested an accused of raping a student of Gujranwala at Allama Iqbal International airport while returning home after six years.
According to details, a case was registered against the accused six years ago on charges of rape, who fled the country after committing the crime. Authorities called the suspect a fugitive and launched search to hunt him.
However, the repatriation of the accused after 6 years breathed new life into the rape case. Police say the suspect was returning home from abroad when he was arrested. Six years ago, the accused raped a female student who is also accused of gang rape.

Police said that the accused was arrested from Allama Iqbal International Airport and handed over to Gujranwala police for further investigation. Investigators will question the accused in the rape case.
It is to be noted that the accused of other crimes including rape have escaped and think that the case is closed. An accused was arrested five months later in Karachi.
