ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman on Wednesday has alleged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of mortgaging the State Bank of Pakistan to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Addressing a Senate session, Sherry Rehman said the government will now be directly accountable to the international authorities instead of the Parliament.
She said that the opposition parties got to know about the national security policy through newspapers. Why this PTI government didn’t bring the policy to Senate for discussion, she asked.
Earlier, PPP Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman, while demanding an inquiry into the irregularities in the Corona Fund, said that why the accountability bodies are silent on the irregularities of more than Rs 40 billion in the Corona Fund.

Sherry Rehman said that this is the trailer of corruption in Corona Fund, the whole movie is still left, Corona Fund is the trust of the people.
On the other hand, opposition members staged protests during a session in upper house of the Parliament, Senate.
The opposition leaders surrounded the dais of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and chanted slogans against the government of PTI.
The Senate chairman directed the opposition members to go back to their seats and peacefully record their protest.
