British singer Adele has opened up about the pain of her divorce, losing weight, and highlighted her strained relationship with her late father.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview, the Hello singer revealed that she lost control over her emotions after a divorce from Simon Konecki. For her, it was about her anxiety mainly. “I had the most terrifying anxiety attacks after I left my marriage,” she asserted.
“They had paralyze me completely and made me so confused because I wouldn’t be able to have any control over my body,” she added. Adele then shared that it dawned upon her to hit the gym. “However I knew that I-I was aware of it all happening. It was like I was still very much there while my whole body was just, like, on another planet it felt like, you know? And I’ve always worked out a bit. You know, a couple of times a week for my back,” she added.

The singer also addressed widespread fascination with changes in her body since her last public tour in 2017. She confirmed she’d lost about 100 pounds (45kg) – and became an athlete who could deadlift 170 pounds (77kg) at her best – over a two-year period as she coped with he most terrifying anxiety attacks while leaving her marriage. “I noticed how much I trusted my trainer’s presence when I was feeling so lost, but also I didn’t have any anxiety when I was out at the gym,” she said.
