ISLAMABAD: At least 554 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while 8 more people have died of the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,278,114 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 28,566 civilians lost their lives to the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 46,128 tests were performed for the diagnosis of coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 21,231,524. Across the country, the virus test result was 1.20 percent, while the number of critical cases was 1,167.
In the last 24 hours, the virus was defeated by 443 people across the country, bringing the total number of recovering people to 12,26,590. The worst affected province was Punjab, where 441,378 people fell victim to the virus and 12,957 died. In Sindh, 472,519 cases and 7,599 deaths of the virus were reported.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a total of 178,773 people fell victim to coronavirus while 5,778 died. In Balochistan, 33,356 cases of the virus and 358 deaths due to the virus were reported.

In Azad Kashmir, 34,495 people were infected with coronavirus and 741 died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 10,395 cases of the virus were reported and 186 civilians lost their lives. In Islamabad, 1,07,198 cases and 947 deaths were reported.
