KARACHI: A builder has constructed a seven-story building in Korangi Industrial Area before the map layout has even been approved.
The layout for the building on Plot No. 38/39 located in Sector 27 in Korangi Industrial Area is still under pending but the builder has already completed the construction of the seven-story structure.
The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has not approved the building’s layout mired in other legal issues. The builder named Saleem Sultan was summoned to the SBCA but he submitted bogus documents.
The bogus letter dated 2019 and completion certificate were submitted which revealed that the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the plot was in the initial phase. The plot was not part of SBCA but a high-rise building has been constructed.
According to rules and regulations, Korangi Industrial Area allows the construction of ground-plus-six floors. However, this building was approved in violation of laws while the implementation plan was bogus.
These illegal constructions in an industrial area also affecting the lives of labourers and impacting other factories in the area. SBCA officials have failed to take action against the builder of officials involved in the illegal construction.
