ISLAMABAD: As many as 53 Pakistanis stranded in the Republic of Chad were repatriated to Pakistan by a special flight operated by a Oman-based private airline.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Chad and Sudan, Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Sipra, said this goodwill flight also brought fifty-two stranded Chadian nationals from Pakistan on its way to Chad.
He said the Chadian nationals are extremely delighted for enjoying unmatched hospitality and comfort in Pakistan for more than two months.
The ambassador said returning nationals of Chad were thankful for the government of Pakistan’s kind gesture for arranging their evacuation under very challenging circumstances.
Ambassador Sarfraz Sipra conveyed his thanks to Chad Embassy at Khartoum for swiftly arranging the flight clearance.
Meanwhile, another batch of 88 stranded Pakistani nationals, including 20 from Hargeisa and 68 from Mogadishu, reached Islamabad from Somalia.
