In a separate incident, within the jurisdiction of Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal police station, a house robbery resulted in the theft of 70 tolas of gold, estimated to be worth over Rs 8 million.

In January 2022, another case of gold theft emerged when 28 pieces of tola gold jewelry were stolen from the residence of a deputy inspector general (DIG) of the motorway police.
According to the first information report (FIR) filed at Islamabad’s Kohsar police station, gold ornaments valued at over Rs 3 million were pilfered from DIG Wisal Fakhar Sultan’s home in the capital.
The police identified a domestic worker named Sabir Ali as the perpetrator. Although he confessed to the theft and promised to return the stolen jewelry, he absconded thereafter, leaving no trace of his whereabouts.
