RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 32 terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored networks in intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during the last 24 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing, security forces conducted multiple sanitization and targeted operations in Khyber district on the night of July 28 and 29, targeting various terrorist hideouts. During the operations, 24 terrorists affiliated with Fitna-ul-Khawarij were killed.
In separate intelligence-based operations in Nushki district of Balochistan, eight terrorists belonging to Fitna-ul-Hindustan were killed following an intense exchange of fire, the ISPR statement said.
Weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used by the terrorists were also recovered and destroyed during the operations.
The ISPR said sanitization operations are continuing to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements in the areas.
Reaffirming the resolve to eradicate terrorism, the statement said that under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” [Determination for Stability] approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, the counter-terrorism campaign will continue with full intensity.
“Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their operations until the complete elimination of externally sponsored and supported terrorism,” the statement added.
