Zulfi Bukhari files Rs.1 billion of defamation suit against Commissioner Rawalpindi

Former Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Zulfi Bukhari has filed a defamation suit of Rs. 1 billion against Commissioner Rawalpindi in the  Ring Road Inquiry case.

Zulfi Bukhari filed a petition in the local court, regarding the claim in the Rawalpindi Ring Road Inquiry case after which, the honorable judge summoned Commissioner  Gulzar Hussain Shah for the trial.

Moreover, the additional district judge, Khurram Saleem sent a notice to Commissioner Rawalpindi Gulzar Shah, regarding the defamation suit of Rs. 1 billion.

Earlier, in the Ring Road scandal, Commissioner Rawalpindi had accused Zulfi Bukhari of corruption. Meanwhile, Bukhari had resigned from his post after billions of rupees of corruption were exposed in the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal in May 2021.

Meanwhile, along with Bukhari two other members of the federal cabinet, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar and Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar were also named in the case.

Later, the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had given a clean chit to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Ghulam Sarwar, and Zulfi Bukhari.
