The Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) Karachi has taken action to seal a Zellbury outlet, a prominent online fashion retail platform, due to the issuance of unverified sales tax invoices.
This measure is part of a broader initiative aimed at addressing tax non-compliance.
The operation was executed by the Inland Revenue of LTO Karachi Zone-1 at the Zellbury outlet situated in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, which was sealed for breaching tax regulations.
According to a press release, “Under the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and the Sales Tax Rules, 2006, all Tier-1 retailers are mandated to issue sales tax invoices via a Point of Sale (POS) Integrated System, as stipulated by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).”

LTO Karachi identified the outlet for its issuance of unverified invoices and has invoked the pertinent provisions of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, to commence legal proceedings.
The outlet will remain sealed until further notice, pending a comprehensive review of its compliance status, as stated in the press release.
