KARACHI: Pakistan’s former captain Zaheer Abbas was released from Hammersmith hospital in London after two months of treatment on Sunday.
According to his wife Samina Abbas, the legendary cricketer was admitted to London St Mary’s hospital suffering from COVID and pneumonia last June.
He was shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Saint Mary’s Hospital in London on June 21.
The former cricketer contracted the virus while travelling to England from Dubai. He was also suffering from kidney pain and was diagnosed with pneumonia in London.
Earlier in July, he was taken off ventilator support after his health condition improved.
The legendary batsman remains the only Asian batsman to score over hundred first class centuries.
