AHMEDABAD: Cricket World Cup 2023 has officially started, in the opening match, New Zealand has won the toss and decided to bowl against England.
The opening match of the World Cup is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On the occasion of the toss, the captain of the New Zealand cricket team, Tom Latham, said that after the warm-up match, they have prepared well, Kane Williamson is recovering, and he will be available in the next matches of the event.
On this occasion, England cricket team captain Jos Buttler said that if we had won the toss, we would have bowled first, Ben Stokes will not play today’s match due to injury.
As per the ODI record of the two teams, the English team got a huge lead, while the Black Caps played in 44 matches, four matches were without result and two matches were tied.
England and New Zealand teams have played ten times in the World Cup. They have faced each other and both have won five matches each.
