ISLAMABAD: Work has officially started on the rehabilitation and widening of the dilapidated service road along the Islamabad Expressway in what appears to be a major relief for the citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The 8.25-kilometer long project will stretch from Faizabad to Koral Chowk. The scope of the project includes the construction of 6 carriageways, along with an underpass and a flyover to ensure smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow.

In a significant development, authorities have directed that the project be completed in a few months, against the initial timeline of one year.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the project site this morning to review the ongoing development work. On the occasion, he stated that there will be no compromise on speed, quality, and transparency in the execution of the project.
He added that upon completion, the project will make transportation easier, faster, and more convenient for the residents of the twin cities.
