KARACHI: The Sindh government has launched a women-only ‘Pink Bus’ service here on Wednesday. The service would remain free for 7 days, i.e. till February 7, announced Sindh Minister Sharjeel Memon.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Sindh Minister Sharjeel Memon said the Pink Bus service will run from Model Colony to Mereweather Tower via Sharea Faisal. He said pink bus service would operate every 20 minutes during morning and evening office hours and hourly afterward, and the fare would be Rs50.
The Sindh Transport Minister said that it is the government’s responsibility to provide facilities to women, and that the government is trying to run buses for women in every city of Sindh. Sharjeel Memon said the PPP government wanted empowerment of women, to make the most mothers and daughters independent.
