ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Tuesday) has made an offer to the Opposition to resign from office, conditional on the fact that they return the money they “stole” from the country.
The Prime Minister expressed his views while chairing a Federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad. “I will resign tomorrow if you deposit the money you looted back into the national exchequer,” he added.
Further criticizing the opposition, PM Imran said the Opposition, under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), had said to tender resignation from assemblies but they could not dare, because they were making efforts for NROs.
“Such people do not have the guts to resign,” he said, adding, “Making such a move requires courage and character.” He also criticised the decision by major Opposition parties to contest the Senate elections.
“Neither did they set out on a long march nor were they successful in gathering people for their cause,” the prime minster remarked. “December 31, and then January 31 came and went,” he added.
