KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) leader Faisal Sabzwari has said they will not allow anyone to speak against the Urdu language and the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
While addressing a press conference along with Coordinating Committee members Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Muhammad Hussain, Abdul Wasim, Aslam Afridi and others he said unfortunately the leaders of the joint opposition did not say anything for the citizens of Karachi except to make statements based on linguistics and prejudice.
He said that none amongst the political parties owns Karachi and its issues, and pointed that even the APC -referring to the Pakistan Democratic Movement power show in the metropolis the other day- did not bother to enlist grievances of Karachi people.
Sabzwari said an FIR should be lodged against Achakzai for denying Quaid-e-Azam’s edicts and ideas. “Achakzai came to Karachi and engaged in politics of prejudice,” he added.
The MQM-P leader added that the subsequent policies of the PPP since then had only widened the gulf between the people living in urban and rural areas of Sindh.
He said the PPP’s government had turned the urban centers of Sindh into ruins during its more than 12 years of long rule in the province.
Faisal Sabzwari said the racist rulers of Sindh always prevent the empowerment of the Urdu-speaking people by means of empowerment of the local bodies.
He said his party had demanded from the federal government a renewed population census in urban areas of Sindh so that the people could receive their due rights.
