Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Hina Munawar as the first female manager of the Pakistan men’s cricket team.
She is an experienced police officer with a strong background in operations and security.
Hina Munawar has played for the Frontier Constabulary in Swat. She has now been entrusted with the responsibility of managing the team for the Champions Trophy. She will also be managing the team when Pakistan plays the tri-nation series. The series is to begin on February 19 in Karachi.
Hina Munawar has an impressive professional background. She passed the Civil Superior Services (CSS) exam. After that, she worked in different security and law enforcement agencies. Her experience in handling operations and security makes her a unique choice for this role.
Last year, she joined the PCB. At the same time, she was appointed the manager of the Pakistan Women’s U-19 squad. She accompanied the team to the Asia Cup. This is such exposure to cricket team management that cannot be acquired sitting in a classroom.
Currently, Hina Munawar is still working in the Pakistan Police Service. It is reported that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi inducted her into the cricket board on deputation. In this system, she works for the PCB but remains a government officer.
