People magazine has named John Krasinski, star of The Office, the 2024 Sexiest Man Alive.
Krasinski was revealed to be the recent winner of the honorable title on Tuesday’s episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The publication also shared a photo of its new cover on social media.
Best known for his role as Jim Halpert in “The Office”, Krasinski directed and starred in the 2018 “A Quiet Place” film alongside his wife, actress Emily Blunt, and went on to direct the sequel in 2020.
He also worked as Jack Ryan in the Prime Video TV series “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” from 2018 to 2023. A movie based on the series was announced last month.
Krasinski has been married to actor Emily Blunt since 2010. The couple have two daughters: 10-year-old Hazel and seven-year-old Violet.
During the acceptance interview, Krasinski revealed his wife’s hilarious reaction to the honor.
“There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he told the magazine, adding that she was “very excited” to hear the message.
When in the running for Sexiest Man Alive, Blunt also joked that she would like to wallpaper their house with the cover if her husband won.
“My children will love that, it won’t be weird at all,” he said of the decor plan.
Krasinski replaces Patrick Dempsey, star of Grey’s Anatomy, who won the title of 2023 Sexiest Man Alive.
