"Where the story will go you’ll see it": Mahira Khan clears misconception about HKKST

Actress Mahira Khan, who is currently essaying the role of Mehreen in the much-anticipated drama ‘Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay’, has addressed the misconception of the drama.

In a recent interview, Mahira Khan said that when she was reading the script she was having the same feeling the audience is having right now about her character that why is she quiet and suffering everything quietly, but to show that emotional trauma and abuse exist in our society, she added that one has to portray it. “Where the story will go you’ll see it,” she maintained.

According to Khan, she agrees that there are a few points where Mehreen has a regressive nature but it was not like that from the start. “She was a strong and independent character, just wait and see what happens rather than assuming it yourself,” she said by adding, “This story is not a love story, but a story about a toxic family.”

Initially, the drama snatched public attention because of its different storyline and A-list cast including Mahira Khan, Usman Mukhtar, and Kubra Khan, but by the passage of time, the viewers are surely not happy with the ongoing plot.
