Akshay Kumar returns to the big screen after a long wait with Housefull 5, the newest chapter of the long-standing comedy franchise that opened in theaters last week.
While initial box office reception has reflected decent advance collections, the occupancy rates of the film during morning shows were lower than those registered by Raid 2 and Chhaava.
The cast includes a mix of familiar old-timers and newcomers, such as Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Johny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma.
Plot
The movie begins on a plush cruise ship, where Nana Patekar’s Ranjit announces in his will that a mind-boggling £69 billion fortune will fall into the lap of someone named Jolly.
Mayhem erupts when three different people all insist on being the real Jolly, casting the story into a maelstrom of confusion and slapstick showdowns. But suddenly the atmosphere changes when Ranjit is found dead, turning the action-packed journey into a murder mystery. What follows is a sidesplitting mix of whodunits intrigue as the passengers race to identify the murderer through a wild spiral of comedic mishaps.
Streaming Details
As per OTT Play, Amazon Prime Video has allegedly purchased the digital streaming rights for Housefull 5. The movie is said to arrive on the platform around two months after its theatrical launch, bringing the cruise-themed caper to home screens later in the year.
