Sometimes you need to recover that one crucial message you sent a few weeks ago but you don’t want to scroll all the way to that message, you do know when you sent it. Apparently, WhatsApp is testing a feature that would enable you to look at messages by date, according to a new report.
The latest update is currently being rolled out to both Android and iPhone users, and the same feature is also accessible for WhatsApp web users and those utilizing WhatsApp on a PC or Mac. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has also shared the news via his WhatsApp channel.
To search for a WhatsApp message from a specific date, navigate to the chat or group, click on the name, and select “search.” On Android devices, you’ll find a calendar icon in the top right corner, while on iPhones, it’s located at the bottom right corner.
Simply click on the calendar icon, choose the desired date, and WhatsApp will automatically direct you to messages from that particular date. This feature greatly simplifies the process of accessing older messages on WhatsApp, particularly for long-term users.
WhatsApp has introduced numerous new features in recent months. It has added various text formatting options such as bold, italic, strikethrough, monospace, and more. Additionally, WhatsApp has implemented several security-focused features, enhancing the platform’s safety. However, Android users should be aware that WhatsApp chats are now counted against the allocated storage quota on WhatsApp, meaning that free backups on Google Drive are no longer available.
