As per tweets, the unknown miscreants defaced some walls o the university with slogans asking the Brahmins and Baniyas (caste systems in Hindu religion) to leave the campus.

Several buildings in the university campus which is located in  New Delhi were found covered with hate slogans against people from Brahmin and Baniya castes.  Among others, such slogans were found on the walls of the School of International Studies-II building. Some of the slogans say – “Brahmins leave the campus”, “There will be blood”, “Brahmin Bharat Chhodo” and “Brahmino-Baniyas, we are coming for you… We will avenge”.

Social media outrage

The pictures of the walls went viral on social media, triggering tension and concern:

No Brahmin calls other castes their enemy.

No Brahmin celebrates a victory of the British against Marathas.

No Brahmin mocks and insults heroes from other castes.

No Brahmin alters Maratha history to suit their narrative.

No Brahmin targets saints from other castes.

Thnx

Who is to be blamed?

According to the information, these slogans were written on the night of November 30. Though the university officials did not comment on the mastermind behind this unfortunate incident, however, JNU’s Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Rohit Kumar blamed the students associated with leftist ideology for this act.

Official statement

The authorities issued a statement assuring that the university belongs to all. “The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Santishree D Pandit has taken serious note of the incident of defacement of walls and faculty rooms by some unknown elements in SIS, JNU. The administration condemns these exclusivist tendencies on campus,” the statement said.
