ISLAMABAD: Prices of sugar, rice, and milk have increased on a weekly basis, despite a slight decrease in the weekly rate of inflation of 0.42 percent, the overall rate still did not come below 45 percent.
According to the report released by the Statistics Institute, the overall rate of weekly inflation has reached the level of 45.49 percent, the prices of 18 essential items increased in a week, and the prices of 16 items decreased and remained stable in 17 items.
An increase in the prices of potato, sugar, rice, milk, and meat was recorded in one week, meat by Rs 3, mutton by Rs 19, milk and curd by Rs 2.2 per kg, dal mash by Rs 2.69 paise and broken basmati rice by Rs 3. Rs. 76 paise per kg became expensive.

Chicken meat became cheaper by Rs 40 92 paise, garlic by Rs 10 per kg, LPG cylinder of 11.67 kg by Rs 12, eggs by Rs 6, and bananas by Rs 5 per dozen.
The report said that in a week, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour decreased by Rs 10, Moong dal by Rs 5, Dal Masoor by Rs 3 per kg, and cooking oil became cheaper by Rs 66. The price of tomato, onion, and ghee also decreased.
