Voting for no-trust motion against Sanjrani to begin today

ISLAMABAD: An upcoming session of the Upper House has been finalized by the authorities as voting for the no-trust motion to take place today against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and the Deputy Chairman Salim Mandivalla.
Senator Barrister Saif will organise polls for the new chairman and deputy chairman, whereas the schedule of elections for the vacant seats will be announced by the Presiding officer. Ballot papers will be used for secret voting by senators in accordance with their names in alphabetic order.
The Senate Secretariat has released the above instructions of the voting procedure which are mandatory to follow strictly. A ban on carrying mobile phones in the polling booth has also been imposed by the Secretariat.
Senate Chairman Sanjrani hammered the resistance groups over bits of gossip about his ousting from the workplace, “We will rout the opposition’s no-confidence motion,” he said.
Earlier today, a feast was hosted by Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for senators of opposition parties.
