KARACHI: Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) on Saturday awarded 271 degrees on its 1st convocation. Six students were awarded Usman gold medals with Rs 25,000 cash prizes.
The ceremony held at the NED university ground presided over by Governor Sindh and Chancellor of NED University Imran Ismail. Vice Chancellor NED University Dr Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi congratulated and awarded the degree to 271 students of UIT.
As per detail 147 students received Bachelors of Electrical Engineering degrees, 55 students were awarded with Bachelor of Sciences Computer Science degrees and 69 students received Bachelor of Sciences Software Engineering Degrees.
Graduates from department of Electrical Engineering (computer system) Muhammad Hadir Khan, Mirza Saif Ali Baig from department of Electrical Engineering (Electronics), Talha Yousuf department of Electrical Engineering (Power), Syed Ali Hussnain department of Electrical Engineering (Telecom).
Muhammad Usama from department of Computer Science and Sufyan Ahmed department of Software Engineering secured first position and awarded Usman Hasham gold medals with cash prize of Rs. 25,000.
Four students from department of Electrical Engineering also get gold medals from Institute of Engineering Pakistan (IEP). Addressing the ceremony, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said the UIT should be proud that they are the part of very well-organised institute.
He said that youth prefer to go aboard, however; this country is full of opportunities. He assured that under Kamyab Nojawan Program the government will provide opportunities to the youth.
Director Usman Institute of Technology, Dr Zahir Ali syed said “Over the past 25 years of service to the nation, UIT has made great strides it has produced over 4,000 graduates who are making their mark in Pakistan and all over the world.
