Pakistan showbiz’s A-lister Ushna Shah, who has been actively advocating for the rights of Palestinians, called for the boycott of McDonald’s as the US-made fast-food chain decided to supply Israeli forces free food during their brutal campaign against people in Gaza.
Decrying that Gaza stands on the precipice of erasure, Shah said that McDonald’s is unequivocally supporting IDF, urging people to use boycott is a weapon.
1. McDonald’s is a US owned franchise.
2. Franchise fee goes to the US.
3. Franchise unequivocally supports IDF.
4. Franchise feeds IDF soldiers 4000 meals a DAY. The same ones who are bombing Gaza. *This is considered military aid!*
5. Closing this franchise will make space for…— Ushna Shah (@ushnashah) October 26, 2023
In a series of follow-up tweets, Ushna provided a comprehensive explanation for her call to boycott the fast-food giant. She emphasized that McDonald’s is a U.S.-based franchise, and America is a strong supporter of Israel.
“Let’s raise awareness and encourage accountability from these brands. Remember, every individual’s voice and actions can make a difference in shaping a more just world,” she added.
I swear to God if I see anyone touch #McDonalds or have it anywhere near me I’m going to rage. Keep it the hell off my sets & if you choose to eat it or endorse it stay the hell away from me, & be prepared for an earful. And for Muslims, consider it as Haram as pork. https://t.co/2A3iDe88bJ

Earlier, Ushna Shah also joined the hundreds of marchers in Civil Society of Pakistan rally, with a placard reading, ‘This is not conflict, it is genocide’, as they walked to show their support to the Palestinians.
Speaking to a local news outlet of the country at the march, Shah raised her voice against the oppression of Israel and said, “It is our collective responsibility being a Muslim, and more so being a human [to raise our voice] when it is not even a war, rather call it genocide, apartheid, or murder.”
Urging the Muslim superpowers to speak up on the matter and say as it is instead of the neutral stances, the celebrity stated, “It is us, the common people, who need to take to the streets to protest and demand the government to openly condemn the atrocities happening [to Palestinians] at the hands of Israeli forces.”

“We need to continue doing this until it stops, and I am not talking about a temporary ceasefire, but an absolute freedom,” Shah added.
“It is no more a Muslims vs. Jews war, but a zionist propaganda and regime to put Palestine through ethnic cleansing, hence, it is crucial for everyone to pause their happenings of life and speak up on the matter,” she concluded.
