US Justice System and Intelligence Agencies (II)

Riyatullah Farooqui by Riyatullah Farooqui
February 6, 2024

No official of The Front and K9 was caught and no legal action was taken against this organization. During his investigation, Thompson discovered that one case had gone to federal court, but in that case, Front had taken the stand before a judge that what they were doing was sponsored by the Department of Defense and the CIA. After that, the case was closed. “When I went to the concerned court and wanted to get the files of this old case from the archive, I found that all the files of the case were missing from the archive,” says AC Thomson.

AC Thomson also discovered that the Front was regularly raising large sums of money in the US and was told that its purpose was to fight a guerilla war in Vietnam. In this regard, Thompson asked Doug Zemsky, a retired police sergeant at the time who investigated the Front’s financial affairs:

“Was Front Fundraising Allowed Under US Law?”

So Zemsky flatly refused.

Thompson asked: “Then how did all this happen?”

Zemsky replied: “It just kept happening, and going on and on.”

Thompson asked: “Do you think he had the backing of the US government?”

Zemsky replied confidently:

“Yes, of course! They had said in a court case that he was working for the Pentagon and the CIA. Many cases were prepared against these people, but every case reached the attorney’s office and was put in cold storage.”

Zemsky, showing a blurry photo of a victim from a personal record said: “These people were so brutal that they wrote on the chest of this victim with a dagger, I was a traitor, and died a traitor’s death.”

So Thompson began to investigate who was the head of this organized and brutal secret organization. It turned out that the former vice admiral of the Vietnamese Navy, Hoang Ko Munh, was the head of the Front. The front was dominated by ex-Vietnamese naval officers, due to Vietnam’s 3,260 km coastline being the most prominent military branch of the armed forces. When Huang’s profile and activities in the US were investigated, it was revealed that he had come to the US on the recommendation of Vietnam War veteran James Kelly.

This is the same James Kelly who was a senior National Security Council official during the administrations of Ronald Reagan and Bush Sr. Shockingly, on the form that Huang filled out to enter the US, his real name is listed, but he listed himself as “stateless” in the citizenship box. Going forward, when it came to his US citizenship, official documents show that on the papers he submitted for citizenship, he listed his name as “William Nakamura”, a Japanese name.

In these documents, he has listed his home address as Washington, but hold your heart and hear that this address is the home of Richard Armitage, a historical figure of the Pentagon. It is the same Richard Armitage who had allegedly threatened Pakistan to send it to Stone Age shortly after 9/11. Not only that but documents obtained under the Information Act show AC Thompson’s possession of a letter from the Pentagon that is part of Huang’s citizenship file and in which the Pentagon recommends that Huang should be granted US citizenship as soon as possible.

AC Thompson also learned during his investigation that Vietnamese journalist Diem Phang, who was murdered in Houston, Texas, had visited Thailand shortly before the murder and had learned the location of the Front’s secret training center in the Thai jungle. Which he had mentioned in his journal and that was the reason for his murder. So AC Thomson not only went to Thailand to investigate further but also interviewed the then Thai Army Chief Chavalit Yongchaiyudh in this regard. He was later the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Defense, and Prime Minister of Thailand in the 90s.

When Thomson asked Chavalit Yongchaiyudh if the front had a training center in the jungles of Thailand. He openly admitted that it was, and said that these people were preparing for a guerilla war in Vietnam with the help of Laotian militants. When asked if their number was around 200? The former Thai army chief said it was much more than that. When he was asked if there was any help from the American government in this? He said it was a huge help. Richard Armitage was very active.

And that I was ordered by the Thai Prime Minister to establish this camp. AC Thomson also visited Laos and interviewed old-time Lao guerrillas, who revealed that many of the Front’s guerrillas had tried to escape from the jungles of Thailand and had been killed on order of Hoang Ko. The graves of ten people are here in the forests of Laos. Keep in mind that Laos is between Thailand and Vietnam. For security reasons, the training center was built in Thailand, as Vietnamese forces had access there due to the insurgency in Laos.

Now finally comes the question of what happened to Huang and his guerilla force. So the summary is that in the summer of 1987, Hoang, along with 200 of his gorilla companions, entered the forests of Laos from Thailand and traveled for ten days towards Vietnam. The border of Vietnam was only 20 kilometers away when the Vietnamese forces ambushed them on the borders of Laos. Thus, on August 20, 1987, Huang was killed along with his colleagues.

Even after Huang, the organization continued to exist as a military organization in a low-intensity state and carried out small-scale operations until the late 90s. But when US diplomatic relations with Vietnam were first established and then began to improve, the Front changed its name on September 19, 2004, to Viet Tân, a Vietnamese acronym for Vietnam Reform Revolutionary Party, and announced that it would now act as a non-violent political party and aim to make Vietnam a “liberal democracy” through peaceful political activism. Both the United Nations and the United States issued statements in favor of it, declaring it a legitimate political organization, but it is still considered a terrorist organization in Vietnam.

Vietnam says we still consider it a terrorist organization because it still holds an annual parade in the US every year in which its former military personnel take part in regular military uniforms, with military jeeps in the parade. While, secondly, many of its members from the United States have been caught up in armed incidents in Vietnam. Until they are caught, they have their men. But as soon as someone is arrested, they immediately declare their disaffiliation, which proves that they are only pretending to be a peaceful political party to gain a foothold in Vietnam by changing tactics.

The Vietnamese position is also strengthened by the fact that after becoming a peaceful political party, there are photos of its current chairman meeting with former US President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. This facility has never been seen for the leadership of a political party in any other country. Notably, the organization still celebrates Huang’s anniversary as a regular event in the United States every year. The August 20, 2020 ceremony was also video-recorded by investigative journalist AC Thompson, in which hundreds of former Vietnamese military officers can be seen in military uniform.

You see this entire description of the American justice system and intelligence agencies revolving around “militarization.” But it is not only from this aspect. You can also see these activities in purely internal politics. For example, look at the cases against former President Donald Trump. These are all political cases and the American establishment is active behind them. So saying that intelligence agencies and courts nexus only happens in Pakistan is nothing but a white lie.     (The end)
