US expresses concern over IoK alarming situation

WASHINGTON: The US State Department has expressed concern over the alarming situation in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK).

According to the statement released by the US state department, the spokesperson said, “We are very concerned by reports of detentions and the continued restrictions of the residents of the region”.

The US State Department spokesperson added that the situation is alarming in the occupied valley and respect for human rights must be ensured in Kashmir. US has sought details from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government over the occupied Kashmir issue.

Previously, US President Donald Trump  offered to mediate between India and Pakistan on Kashmir issue.
